No.5/20, of this A1 limited edition, has just been purchased by Angela MacCarthy of Anglesey. I normally only mention the first print sale in any edition, but as this image is one of my personal favourites, and hasn't been shown on this blog before, I think it's great to use this opportunity to share it with you!It is also nice to see local people featured on the print sales records :-)
"I had seen this old derelict chapel on numerous occasions but had never actually looked inside properly. For the first time, I saw a rickety old staircase leading up to an apparently non-existent first floor. I tentatively picked my way up the staircase to nowhere and to my surprise found this amazing scene. There were still remnants of a floor, half a roof and an open window. There was a carpet of green mosses and weeds and a whole centrepiece tree growing from the ground floor. The flocked wallpaper was a textural mix of peach and green and the skylight created a sunlight ambience in the far corner! The outdoors was a picture of new life, hanging centrally and reflected in the floor, or lack of it, in front of me. The lattice of fallen roof timbers, exposed flooring, horizontals, vertical and diagonals made this old room a place for an artist to worship!"
