May only be for 1 day, but today at least, I am ranked No.1 and at the end of a very sad week, I'm briefly happy!

I've had a bad week to be honest, general life stresses, business stresses, tax stresses, bill payment stresses, a very ill cat, my Dad's not feeling well, my Mum's developing cataracts, I've been feeling under the weather and to cap it all, I lost my Great Aunty Kathleen, who after a long period of illness and pain finally passed away. She had always seemed more like my Gran than a great aunt and outlasted all of them, but that generation of my family has finally gone.

This week has therefore been full of emotional heartache and general worries, so it was a HUGE delight to get a phone call this morning, from Sharad Haksar, the founder of the on-line international showcase "OneEyeland' to tell me that I am now ranked No.1 in the world on their site!!! :-)

It couldn't have come at a better time for me!

My OneEyeland PORTFOLIO is HERE

In real terms of course, this is an ongoing process of image submission and selection, so the ranking can change day by day, but I'm not worried, as on this ONE day, for ONE moment, on ONE showcase I am ranked number ONE in the world, and although there are far more brilliant artists out there than me, it has made me extremely happy for a short while - a sign that no matter where you live, how poor your neighbourhood, how rural your environment, if you constantly strive for quality and perfection, and genuinely have something real to say about your world, there is on-line at least, a chance that you just might find an audience who appreciates what you do.

OneEyeland has been the most frustrating fun I've had for years in photography :-) Thank you Sharad and the team of judges, for creating that opportunity.
