Seeking sponsors for my new book "Welsh Light"

This Autumn I will be publishing my fourth coffee-table art photo book, "Welsh Light". This book will be a ruthlessly edited selection of 120 of my most personal, and emotionally charged images of Snowdonia, Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula. It will once again be a hard-back book and will contain a bilingual Foreword & Introduction. It is likely to be limited to between 1000 and 1500 books (depending on unit costs which I will know next week). I will be limiting also, the number of signed copies available, and I will also number the first 500 copies.

"The title takes us beyond physical boundaries, to explore more honest experiences of landscape, which for many of us are spiritual and emotional rather than shallowly aesthetic, and which which impress upon us no matter where we are in the world. However, there is a secondary influence, (over my work at least), and that IS the awareness of the history and culture of an area, which sometimes channels the landscape spirit into certain composition. There is also of course a particular light, which is so heavily influenced by the topography and consequent weather of this area, which evokes more of a passion within me than any country with clear blue skies, I guess it's familiarity, comfort of past memories and a connection with my own history."

For this fourth, and largest volume of my work to date, I am seeking commercial sponsorship from business or individuals who have an appreciation of, and care for the natural environment, the great outdoors or of course, Wales. Any company who provides goods, services or developments which negatively affect the survival and enjoyment of rural areas as natural and meditative places will understandably not be considered for this publication. There will be some additional advertiser benefits for those who come on board.

If you are a supportive patron, or have a company you feel would 'tick the right boxes' for advertising in "Welsh Light", then please get in touch via e-mail or at the gallery on 01248 715511and I will forward you the advertisers information sheet.

A Letter from the Prime Minister

Just about three weeks ago I sent a thank you letter to the Prime Minister David Cameron, along with a set of my Anglesey Landscapes books. I also included an invite to my solo photographic exhibition at the AOP Gallery in Central London two weeks ago. The books were a thank you for the considerable publicity which resulted from his purchase of earlier copies of my Anglesey Landscapes books as a wedding gift for the Royal couple, Prince William and Catherine Middleton. After David discussed his gift on prime-time national TV, I was inundated with phone calls from the press and I even gave a live radio interview with BBC on the day of the wedding itself!

Anyway time went by and I never did get to see David at my London show and I wasn't even sure he'd received the books, but I guessed he'd have more pressing matters than my landscape images so I sort of forgot about it all, until yesterday when this arrived :-)

It was a really nice thank you letter for my gift to him with a hand written last paragraph just to let me know that:- "I had a lovely letter from Prince William, who was delighted with your books"

So there we have it, the Prince and I guess Kate, have both seen and enjoyed my books so all round, David, the couple and I have all been linked by something as simple, peaceful and creative as a couple of beautifully printed books by an artist fascinated with the varied and wonderful island of Anglesey - a genuine honour for me indeed.

This is the older volume which is running low as only 1500 were printed

My stocks of Volume I are running low and I will stop selling any more when I reach just 100 copies, they will be for posterity. I have no plans at this stage to second edition Volume 1, as I have my new book, "Welsh Light" in the pipeline, so if you want to complete your Anglesey set with first editions, then don't leave it too late. You can buy copies from HERE by using the "Add to Cart" feature - you can pay through PayPal.

Volume II which I had 2000 copies made of, so plenty of stock left.
