A print sale worth far more than money!

A young guy came into my gallery today, eyes wide open, energised and infectiously engaging ! He had seen my image "A Light Path" in the gallery window and was quite simply arrested by it, couldn't walk past without coming in to enquire about it.

But this guy wasn't just a picture buyer, he is a passionate writer, and so incredibly well read he made me feel like I've only ever been reading Jack & Jill books ! He knew about poets and artists and philosophers and not once in the 3 hours he spent with me over the course of the day, (two visits), did he ever come across as anything other than extremely humble and deeply intrigued. He talked about my work almost as if he was me! He talked about 'where I am' in exactly the same way as my professional peers do, it was an empathetic meeting in so many ways, but unusually he is not even into 'landscape' per se, but was so captivated by my work that he could see the deeper meanings and indeed powerful metaphors within it, which some people never even realise I'm putting in there. I felt endorsed :-)

Not only did I feel like I'd been talking with a brother today, he showed his commitment by purchasing the first of 3 A1 Editions there and then, which at £1600 is a huge proof of love of my work. I have just received a fantastic thank-you text from him, not for the picture, but for my time! I feel very enriched today, and it has NOTHING to do with the sale! Ryan McGonigle, you are a sound bloke and next time you visit, I promise I will get you a coffee !! :-)
