The AOP Open Awards Exhibition launches at the Dray Walk Gallery, the Truman Brewery, London, from 25th -28th October. The presentation evening will take place on Thursday 25th October 2012. Once the exhibition comes to an end, all prints will be kept by the AOP for a year as all work may travel to touring shows.
Here are my three successful entries:-

"Threatening Cow" Pendeen, Cornwall © Glyn Davies
"We were walking the Cornish cliff-path between St Just and Zennor when this huge cow (well she seemed huge from our viewpoint) trotted into view above us, on a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. She drew to a halt and then just stood there watching our every move, as I took her photograph. As we walked on her slowly turned to follow us - funny really, I often wonder what exactly goes through an animals mind when it studies a human :-)"

"Harbour View" Valletta, Malta © Glyn Davies
"Overlooking the Grand Harbour at Valletta, in Malta. Thousands of warships, trading vessels and leisure craft have visited this spectacular history rich harbour of the Three Cities over the centuries, and on the walls of a large slipway, are painted some of the vessels the locals have seen. It was a baking hot day, and the sun was glaring off the sparkling sea, but in the cool shade of these strange box like abodes, a woman sits reading in an open window and another washes dishes. The majesty of the ancient city above, and the vibrant harbour below, are momentarily lost in the every day human activities of these locals. The images of ships, and the wet beach towels hanging beneath, are the only visual references to the location of this rough and surreal complex".

"Tuscan Welsh" Llŷn, North Wales © Glyn Davies
"A beautifully soft and rounded mountain landscape, grass-covered and sensual. Amidst this gently blowing softness, hard, prominent man-made walls graphically divided the landscape. There was warmth today, not to the bare human skin but to the heart and soul."
