The images will not be what you'd expect from a liaison with the RNLI and it will not be endless shots of the lifeboat in action, but something rather different and very particular to me and my work - hopefully ! It's early days in what will be a long project, but as you can imagine, I'm tremendously excited. Some of the work will involve time in bad weather whilst aboard their huge and mightily powerful 17m Severn Class lifeboat, "Christopher Pearce", when she's out on exercise, but some will be from cliffs and caves so endless opportunities should develop - again hopefully! Until we start actually working on this project, I can't as yet foresee all the issues I will face as a photo artist working in this way. What I do know is that this is my project, and there are no restrictions or demands so I will be happy and the creativity should flow.
Of course I will want to be able to put money into the RNLI for their assistance with this project, and Press Officer Ray and I have already started putting together ideas.
It's brilliant to have such an unusual and exciting project in the pipeline, and I'm keen to get going from April onwards.
