Glyn Davies has been a professional photographer and artist since 1987, but is also a honours graduate in Photography, Film and Television (London). Before that he completed a 1 year Arts Foundation Course at the Falmouth School of Art in Cornwall. He is professionally qualified with the Association of Photographers (London) and has had numerous exhibitions, in North and South Wales, Cornwall, London and Cheshire, TV and Radio appearances and also won Silver in the London Photography Awards - Landscape Competition. He has been interviewed by numerous magazines and publications over the years. He taught photography part-time at the University of Wales for almost fourteen years. He has now published three books of his work, the latest "Nant Gwrtheyrn - Y Swyngyfaredd" being launched by Lord Dafydd Elis Thomas at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.
His books were bought by the British Prime Minister David Cameron in April 2011 as a wedding present for the Royal Couple Prince William and Catherine Middleton. The PM wrote to Glyn to say that "Prince William was delighted with the books"
In June 2011 Glyn staged a major solo exhibition of his work at the AOP Gallery in Shoreditch, London.
His images are purchased for investment as well as display, as a result of almost three decades working as a professional, published photo artist. His prints are held in many public and private collections and have been acquired by several large corporations and institutions such as the BBC; University of Wales; Williamson Art Gallery (Birkenhead), Oriel Ynys Môn Gallery; North Wales Fire Service and the Management Development Centre, Bangor. He has customers from Australia to the USA.
